Shopping for baby’s stuff

I feel like a time bomb waiting to explode – in a good way. More and more time is moving so fast and soon, I will find it even more difficult to stroll around. So while I still can, I decided it was time for that big baby shopping day.

Together with my aunt, I stared blankly at rows and piles of baby clothes. Whites, colored, tie-sides, onesies, and booties. It was hard to decide what to get but my mom said just stick to the basics and get only a few pairs of everything. Mommies also told me how fast babies grow, so you really don’t need a lot of this small newborn sized clothes.

Here is a list of the baby items I got:

  • 2 receiving blankies
  • 5 pcs tie-side shirts
  • 5 pcs tie-side sleeveless shirts
  • 2 pcs long-sleeved tie side shirts
  • 3 pcs pyjamas
  • 5 pairs of booties
  • 5 pairs of mittens
  • 1 baby bonnet
  • 3 pcs baby towelettes
  • 1 dozen of cloth diapers
  • 2 packs of newborn diapers
  • 3 pairs of diaper clips
  • 1 powder container with puff
  • 1 anti-leak mat

*whew*

There was only two of us so we decided to get pillows and things for the baby crib next time. Everything costs P2,550.00. The only advice I can give is for first time mommies to go with older relatives like your mom, aunt, older sister, etc. My baby’s dad did not come along because he was busy making money and I also wanted to spare him from walking endlessly, to and from, the department store.

3 more months to go and the owner of these items is arriving! 🙂
