Fun with paperboats (bangkang papel) and other cut out floaters

Hi! Mommies, happy mother’s day. Today, Ashton and I are going to share our weekend activity – making paper boats, people, fishes and making them float on a water-filled basin. It’s a frugal way to have fun and keep cool on a hot Sunday afternoon. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Color pens
  • Scratch paper
  • Basin
  • Water
  • Scissors

To make the paper boat, check this tutorial. I advise using a smaller size of paper especially if you have a small basin. Next, start drawing people and color them in. You can also draw jelly fish, fish, star fish, and more. Cut them out and let them swim!

We experimented with several cut-outs. We also found some drawings from an old magazine of butandings, dugong, and pawikan. I cut them out and covered both front and back of the cutouts with scotch tape. This preserves and protects them from the water.

Here’s a video of  how Ashton and I play with them:

Enjoy playing!
