Our I love you Sabado experience with Jollibee

My mini family loves out of town trips but we don’t always have transportation or the budget. So, when Jollibee selected us to join their I Love You Sabado event in SM City Lipa, Batangas – we felt very lucky.

Ashton and I slept extra early. The three of us were picked up at 10am, along with other families. The road trip started and we passed Dasmarinas, Carmona, and GMA Cavite before entering the Star Tollway going to Lipa.

The expressway unlike EDSA, offered grand views of greenery & mountains including Mt. Makiling. My 5 yr. old was amazed at how huge the mountains were plus the clouds were covering the summits, giving us a very dramatic view.

I can’t help but imagine how lucky residents of Laguna are, waking up to the majestic view of Mt. Makiling everyday.

Then, we reached the town of Lipa. Along the streets are lomi food houses which I hope we can try next time. We have never been to SM City Lipa either, guided by Daddy’s smart phone, we figured the way to the mall which turned out not to be too far away.

Jollibee SM City Lipa was full of diners when we arrived, it was a Saturday afterall. The long travel meritted us to enjoy Jollibee meals. We had  garlic pepper beef, a bucket of chicken joy, and the Jolly spaghetti family pan.

Daddy almost finished the entire pan by himself.

Ashton had the interesting combination of garlic pepper beef rice and chickenjoy.

Then it was time to go up to the event center for the Jollibee activities that await families (event is open to all). Ashton enjoyed the short musical play starring Jollibee and friends. It was about pursuing your dreams, honing your talents, and the importance of practice.

The gang also performed the 90’s I Love You Sabado jingle of Jollibee. I can’t help but feel nostalgic, it was just like yesterday when I was a kid waiting for Saturday to come. Now it’s Ashton’s turn to make I Love You Sabado memories of his own. We are thankful and certain that this is one Saturday he will remember forever.

Speaking of memories, there was also a booth where families can star in their own I Love You Sabado music video for FREE. Here is ours:

At 3pm there was also a meet and greet with Jollibee. A lyre and drum band signaled the arrival of Jollibee and friends.

There were lots of kids (and parents) who want to have their photos with Jollibee, Ashton barely made it to the last group:

Shortly after the activities, Ashton was hungry again. We all met in the store and were given Jollibee cheesy bacon mushroom burger each to takeaway. Ashton and his kiddie companions also asked for chocolate sundaes to enjoy during travel. Daddy with other parents bought sundaes and the kids were all happy.

On the way back, we had to keep the kids entertained so Daddy played Hi 5 songs and videos. The kids danced the traffic away:

In no time, we were at home and were very happy on how we spent our precious Saturday as a family.
