Domicillo Boutique Hotel Tagaytay Review

Domicillo Boutique Hotel is located at Km 58, Emilio Aguinaldo Hi-way Maharlika East, Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway, Tagaytay, Cavite, Philippines. This post is for couples especially mommies and daddies looking for a new romantic hideaway in Tagaytay.

My husband recently celebrated his birthday and his wish was for us to have couple time in Tagaytay – this is our favorite destination since we were boyfriend-girlfriend. We chose to celebrate in a new boutique hotel called Domicillo.

A boutique hotel is different from ordinary hotels primarily because of its size. Usually in my experience, boutique hotels will only have 5-10 rooms. They are less busy, more peaceful and personal than traditional hotels. It was just what my husband craved for. Since Domicillo is new, we really felt we were in a secret hideaway where no one can disturb us – finally!

This is how their hotel looks from the outside:

Apparently this establishment is owned by famous Filipino furniture and interior designers. It is evident from the hotel’s look and feel.

This is how our room looked like:

Domicillo isn’t the most affordable boutique hotel, they are far from it but as they say – you get what you pay for. In our case, this generous, grand, and luxurious space. All ours for the day & night!

I liked the balcony the most. We are always in Tagaytay but this must be the best view I’ve seen. The volcano looked like it was directly in front of us. Most of all, we could enjoy it on our own. Our very own private view. I am sure any normal couple like us will find this extremely romantic and appreciate the rare privacy.

The full glass window brings the outside in, that way we weren’t split about staying in the room or out in the balcony.

There’s this thing about the four post bed though, the post blocks the view to the TV. Good thing there’s a comfy lounge chair in the room which I sat on to enjoy my favorite lifestyle shows in peace.

The bathroom was as spacious and is equipped with a water heater. I couldn’t figure out how to operate the heater at first but Winlyn the on-duty housekeep proactively solved the problem and took care of us very well.

Aside from your hotel room, Domicillo also features a common living space. It was just beside our room. The common area has a lounge to enjoy magazines that Domicillo also provides, a dining area with its own hot-cold water dispenser, plus its own balcony as well.

We loved staying here most of the time because of the WiFi signal. As usual, we used the dining table as our work desks to catch up on emails. We felt right at home, as if we have our own house in Tagaytay and it was just the two of us.

Domicillo has its own restaurant called La Finca. We’ve dined here before with family so for this particular staycation, we asked for our breakfast to be served in-room.

How convenient and I can’t express how grateful I am of the privacy. It’s rare for the two of us to have uninterrupted and peaceful breakfast.

Our stay had a complimentary massage for two which we also enjoyed in-room.

Then it was time to go but by this time we were already filled with new memories of our own and are recharged enough to go back to our normal family life.

Places to go to when staying in Domicillo:

1. Aozora Japanese Restaurant – within the hotel. We had our lunch and dinner here which I’ll blog about separately.

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at Ayala Mall Serin

2. Ayala Mall Serin – newest mall in Tagaytay. Take a jeep from Domicillo to Ayala Mall Serin.

3. Bag of Beans – newest branch along Emilio Aguinaldo Highway. Take a jeep.

4. Cliffhouse Tagaytay – walking distance.

5. Robinson’s Summit Ridge – on our first night, we went on a walk from Domicillo to Summit Ridge just to grab a cake from Starbucks. Definitely walking distance.
