NEW Starbucks Honeycomb Frappuccinos

Starbucks launched new food items and frappuccinos this week. I have been saving my Starbucks card for this and when the day came, my son had to be admitted at The Medical City. The good news is there’s a Starbucks store in this hospital and it’s even newly renovated:

I am still here at the hospital and the only thing I look forward to aside from my son’s discharge is my coffee breaks in the afternoon. So let me share with you new food items that you can also enjoy during your me-time.

There are two new Starbucks Frappucinnos namely Honeycomb Crunch Mocha Frappuccino which reminds me of Red Ribbon’s Choco Mocha Crunch cake (yum) and the Orange Honeycomb Crunch Cream.

Both beverages have generous honeycomb toppings. Are you familiar with Cadbury’s Crunch chocolate? My sisters and I loved eating this together when we were younger. The new Starbucks Frappuccinos are like more adult version of this treat.

Of the two Honeycomb Frappes, I tried and liked the mocha version. Orange flavored honeycomb drink is too adventurous for me. Right now, I want the familiar taste of mocha and honeycomb together.

On my next hospital coffee break at Starbucks Medical City, I tried one of the new food items too:

Grilled Lamb Kofta Wrap (actual photo) with Chai Tea Latte

This is like getting your shawarma fix in Starbucks. Take note it’s not sliced lamb meat but lamb meat balls. You will get about 2-3 meatballs in your wrap. I didn’t pay attention to the description so I was also surprised to see french fries in the wrap.

The lamb kofta wrap went very well with my favorite hot and tall chai tea soy milk latte. Both of them had a mediterranean twist which is a welcome kick to anyone’s afternoon.

Other new food items/lunch sandwiches I saw are the Four Cheese & Garlic, Chicken Pesto and Shiitake Mushroom Melt on Flat Bread, Chicken Bun (this looks very cute), and Tuna Salad on Pumpernickel Bread which I’d like to try tomorrow. It looks like this from the Starbucks website:

Tuna Salad on Pumpernickel Bread

From wikipedia: Pumpernickel bread is a typically heavy, slightly sweet rye bread traditionally made with coarsely ground rye. It is often made with a combination of rye flour and whole rye berries.

Livestrong.com says this type of bread is better for our bodies for their fiber content.

I do follow Starbucks Philippines on Facebook, and from one Starbucks fan to another – I advise you check out their promotions site to get the most of your Starbucks Reward Cards and put to good use those Starbucks selfies 🙂
