Nearly There and Feeling Down?

I am not sure if this is a normal part of pregnancy but I am feeling down lately. I am at around 34 weeks, in more or less than 3 weeks, the baby can arrive any minute.

I think what gets me down is the big wait and worrying (I know I shouldn’t) about my health and the baby’s. I think this period is the most crucial because mommies should always check if the baby is still moving inside their tummy.

Lots of stories surface, horror stories about child birth from failure of the epidural to work for some reasons and having still births. These all give me the chills but I know that only one thing can solve these and that is faith.

Then, I want to be able to decide with my husband on baby matters. From the smallest details like floor mats to big details like if we would get a nanny or not. Of course, we welcome all the help we can get especially from experienced family members but it is just different here in the Philippines. We have to admit that once we welcome these help, we give people who help us the right to decide as well. I am sure new moms would agree.

The first few days as a complete family (daddy, mommy, and baby) are crucial. As much as possible, there should be little interference as the new family realize their new roles and responsibilities. I am lucky to have realized and see how responsible my husband is as early as now and I want him to continue to lead our own little family 🙂

Most pregnant women at this stage also opt to stay at home to prevent premature labor and aim for a full term birth at 37 weeks or more. It could just be the most boring stage ever, and hotter at that! I am not yet used to being left alone at home by my husband because we do things together all the time 🙁 But when the baby is here, I am sure I wouldn’t mind staying in.

How about you? What stage are you in now and how are you feeling so far? 🙂
