One of my favorite frugal tips is to be on the lookout for free kiddie events that my son will enjoy minus expensive tickets or entrance fees. We’ve been on a tight budget lately so when I saw SKY Cable’s upcoming Playback Rewind Kids event on Facebook, I dialed the hotline right away for free tickets.

Venue for this event is at the Rockwell Tent.
The tickets included free food like waffle dogs, popcorn, sandwich, pasta, and icecream. For energy, we stopped by Waffle Time first:
Then it was time for Ashton to enjoy the games. The event is called Playback Rewind because they are featuring classic Pinoy games that we used to enjoy as children like Tumbang Preso, Luksong Tinik, Jackstone, Pickup Sticks, Dama, Piko, and more.
Every time Ashton completed a game, he was rewarded with candies and biscuits.
Aside from Pinoy games there were also booths for kite making, clay, and music. Ashton enjoyed trying different instruments.
At 4pm the program started with this amazing show of dancers with black light effects. Parang Asia’s Got Talent lang!
Then, the kids were called up on stage for a free demo class of Kinder Music. Ashton enjoyed dancing, singing with fellow kids.
We loved that the venue wasn’t packed and the activities were just right. The ates and kuyas for each game booth were all persistent in teaching kids how to play.
Even the food was amazing especially the generous New Zealand icecream!
Now I know I should always look out for SKYcable promos, events, and activities. This was such a treat to all subscribers and the long travel from our house to Makati was well worth it.
Every loot bag contained these treats, some of which came from different booths at the event like Asian Parent, National Bookstore, and Bread n’ Butter:
Our 5 year old had a blast and us parents too, the games reminded us of our own childhood and the event was so well-organized that we were laid back and relaxed the entire time.
