#IAmDifferent: Anti-Bullying Shirts by Penshoppe

Everyone can be a victim of bullying. In the digital age, bullying is made easier with anonymous accounts, “except” settings on Facebook, groups, and private messages. Talking about bullying and making a stand against it isn’t easy when doing so makes you the next viable target for bullies.

Anti-Bullying Shirts by Penshoppe

Penshoppe, the top Filipino fashion brand makes it easier to make a stand with wearable #IAmDifferent statement tees. Research shows that it is when you are perceived to be different that people start bullying you. Example, you are either too quiet or too loud, too thin or too fat, too smart or too slow.

With the help of international brand ambassadors Bella Hadid, Lucky Blue Smith, Kaia Gerber, and Sandara Park among many other big names, Penshoppe brings its focus to the widespread issue of bullying plaguing the Filipino youth. According to Penshoppe, this campaign presents a timely opportunity for everyone to start talking about the pressing issue of bullying in the country. A study reports that 1 out 2 Filipino students have experienced or witnessed bullying in their schools. It has also taken a new form especially with the advent of social media as it provides a more convenient avenue to spread hate and thrive on people’s insecurities.

#IAmDifferent Penshoppe Shirts

The anti-bullying shirts are now available at Penshoppe stores nationwide. It comes in white and black, size options, and with different variations of the statement designs: I Am Different and Different is Good.

“I Am Different” Penshoppe shirts are horizontally printed.

“Different Is Good” Penshoppe shirts are vertically printed.

Proceeds from the #IAmDifferent collection will benefit development of a module that discourages bullying and encourages acceptance in public school children, in partnership with Teach For The Philippines.

This is a good cause and opportunity to talk about bullying. Kudos to Penshoppe for helping people taking a stand at the risk of making themselves a victim of fake news and ironically – online bullying. Check out Penshoppe’s Facebook Page to learn more about this campaign and how it’s now received substantial support from Penshoppe fans nationwide.

I got my own anti-bullying shirt too, I prefer the white version but it wasn’t available! I’ll buy it next time. My top tip on how to survive bullying? Keep quiet, ignore, and if you must tell someone (if it gets real bad), tell those in power i.e. authorities, principal, police, lawyer etc. to formally lodge a complaint because talking back to bullies is just a waste of time. Also think before posting anything online because it’s very easy to be a bully without knowing it or make yourself vulnerable to attacks. I agree with Penshoppe that education is key, and as they say – think before you click.

Stay safe and embrace your difference as well as others ;)

Journey Spiritual Craft necklace & charms from Holy Land (water, earth, oil)

I’ve never been to Holy Land and the closest best thing I have is this necklace. It reminds me of the nativity cross necklace that you can buy from TV shopping years ago. Of course that time, I don’t have the means to order nor the money to buy it.

Now I have this memorabilia from Holy Land, the pendant holds soil taken by the artist and his wife from Holy Land. Each piece is certified handcrafted by artist, Oren Sagi and yet this necklace only costs me P350 (bought on promo).

My husband bought it for me from the distributor while they were having a marketing activity in Makati. Regular price is around P400. I like the simplicity of my necklace but I just have to be careful not to bump the pendant on a hard surface, plus remember to wear it when going out. I always forget.

You can get the Journey Spiritual Craft pendants in a variety of design (flat, round, or tube shape)

Earth/soil from Holy Land is most meaning to me because every time I plant seeds and till the land – I feel closest to our Lord, my heavy dependence on Him and His providence.

Other necklaces contain water, oil, and mustard seeds (remember the parable). If you’re not keen on necklaces they come in other designs that comes with a spiral stand (P1,750). I purchased one for my mother-in-law and praying for a way to send it to her since she’s in the US.

You can also order from their website, I need to check and inquire if they can deliver within and outside the country. This would be nice especially this Christmas, it’s one of those meaningful timeless gifts that capture the essence of advent. Some say that the very act of bringing a gift from the Holy Land to a person near or far is a deed of unparalleled goodness, bringing the recipient a small piece of the Promised Land, infused with a measure of spirituality.

What do you think and do you have similar Christmas gift ideas? Please share them via comments below :)

Using online shopping coupons at Zalora

This post is a walk through of my first shopping experience at Zalora and trying to apply coupons I received with my credit card bill and by signing up to their newsletter.

Receiving bills, credit card bills to be more specific are not always a good sight. But included in this month’s mail were a couple of online shopping coupons from Zalora. I only recently discovered the joys of shopping online when I purchased a personal blender a few months ago from Lazada.

I haven’t shopped at Zalora but I’d like to put these coupons into good use and I also see an additional P250 voucher when you register your email address:

Tada! Scored another coupon code in real-time:

Online window shopping, these are some of the items I put in my virtual bag. I can’t believe I spent more than an hour browsing through categories including the outlet, marketplace, and new arrivals. I also saw they’re having a Celebrate Christmas in July sale but the splash page isn’t ready for now.

I don’t really have a lot of occasions to dress up for, so the pieces I picked are good for working out, family day outs, and dates with my husband. If you are following the Mommy Makeover series, I dropped a few sizes hence a need for better fitting wardrobe.

Here’s applying the 20% off promo from BDO saving me P324.95. Right now I can’t figure out how I can also apply the P250 off voucher for signing up for the newsletter. I just sent an inquiry to their customer service, looks like the items will be safe in my virtual shopping bag while waiting.

UPDATE #1: Only one coupon can be used per transaction which is sad although I am saving the P250 for another time.

UPDATE #2: Received the items in less than 24 hours! I got the parcel from Zalora today July 24 when I only completed my online transaction yesterday July 23. I had to remove 1 item due to budget constraints.

I’m excited to wear one of these tops this weekend, yehey! I can’t believe how fast online shopping is in the Philippines. My experience with Lazada is also the same. If shopping online is this fast, we have to be mindful especially when we are on a budget. Do look out for sales, promos, and coupons if you must shop.

A young impressionable mind begins to understand that somewhere in the world he is making a difference.

Tiny TOMS are available for both toddlers and youth. The classics come in colorful denim designs and strong solid colors of chocolate and red. Tiny TOMS are crafted in sparkling black, pink and silver, as well animals prints & cartoons.

TOMS will also have a One Day without Shoes where participants walk throughout a venue without shoes! This is helpful for your weight loss just like atro phex and for more kids who will benefit from the program.
