Why People Love The Alley by Vikings in BGC – A Food Hall You Can Experience

One of the many dining areas inside The Alley BGC

Food Halls are one of Manila’s most notable food trends and there are many reasons why younger Filipinos prefer them. Most are aesthetically pleasing, offer plenty of food options, and has the hip vibe sans the chaos of regular food courts. At food halls, diners can curate and enjoy their food from a variety of stalls in a chill environment, and because of the flexibility & comfort dining offered by food halls, it’s an ideal place to commune with friends.

Now imagine a food hall and buffet experience combined into one, where you can enjoy all the merits of a food hall and the limitless indulgence of a buffet. The Alley by Vikings takes the eat-all-you-can experience to a whole new level. It is a first of its kind to offer unlimited food and drinks, taste and experience different flavors and specialty cuisines.

Food stalls offer Japanese, Filipino, Thai, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, and so much more. Like many I can’t resist good oysters and some Japanese food for comfort. So here are my photos. Definitely try the others, I like the Thai food stall too where they serve Pad Thai, Thai fried rice, and more.

The Alley by Vikings BGC treats guests with its aesthetically pleasing, instagram-worthy, European-inspired interiors. It can be said that this food hall’s layout is more upscale with generous hallways and dining areas. There’s a place for everyone whether dining as a group, couple, family, or if you are enjoying some me time.

I’ve been to The Alley in BGC twice this month and I highly recommend it as a place to relax after a tough week. Introverts like myself who want peace and quiet will appreciate the chill vibe of this place. I love the regular Vikings of course but The Alley is less crowded and less noisy. It’s a good venue to reward yourself and excite your pallette with so many cuisines to try. There’s food for all your mood and on my second visit, I could not believe it but they also serve milk tea.

HEGZ, the bar station, offers exciting cocktails to start your food hall experience with (or if you prefer, at the end). I like visiting the bar first to set the mood and relax my tense nerves! Try their margarita, but sometimes it’s not available. The cocktails of the day change every now and then. On my second visit, I tried the Pacific Ocean and Mojito. I like the Margarita better.

Here are some “tips” to make the most of your time at The Alley BGC.

  • Book a table before you go. See contact details below.
  • Dinner is from 5pm-10pm. They’re also open for lunch but I like the evening vibe better when you can appreciate the lighting & decor better. Plus, it’s colder.
  • On weekends, there’s live music at night and it’s just the right background for pleasurable dining.
  • Grab your coffee from Nords Cafe stall, The Alley’s own coffee shop that’s also part of the buffet.
  • You can make requests at the bar if you like your cocktails stronger or lighter.
  • Finally, just enjoy your time and eat at your own leisure. It’s not hard to do at The Alley, you’re already getting more than your money’s worth so chill.
