Of Growing Tummies and Maternity Support Belts

At around 29 weeks and in my third trimester, I am finding it more difficult to walk around with my feet feeling sore and really heavy. Sometimes, they feel numb in an instant making me wish I can just roll like an armadillo to my destination. Everyday my tummy and baby are getting bigger and in a much faster pace now.

This means that like any pregnant woman, the extra weight we carry become more evident. Hence the aching back, legs, feet, etc. I am also surprised at how the things I carry – like my laptop seems to have multiplied its weight. As much as possible, it is best to ask someone to carry these things for us unless pregnant women want broken bones, premature contractions, and other scary things.

While buying my prenatal vitamins (at Mercury Drug), my eyes caught these maternity support belts and at around Php 640.00 I wonder if I should get one already. I found out that aside from supporting the growing belly, it decreases back strain and lets pregnant women walk like normal human beings. I admit that I am walking like a penguin these days. Also, it improves circulation in the pelvic area and relieves women of going to the bathroom every so often to pee.

What do you think Mommies ?

I think I would get this. Didn't use it during my first pregnancy but it came to a point that i felt like a whale literally so now that I'm on my second I think this would be worth having.
