Easter Barnyard 2017 Experience at Resorts World Manila

Easter has become a fun and spectacular celebration for kids, especially with malls around the metro that host Easter Egg Hunts, costume contests, and magic shows. Easter Sunday can easily become a busy day for mommies looking for the best venue and activity for kids to enjoy the Easter celebration.

We chose Resorts World Manila’s Easter Barnyard Adventure as it is the most visible and talked about online. I even shared the poster to my excitement and to let even more mommies know! Come Easter Sunday which was a partly cloudy day, it was tempting to stay at home but the new Skyway also known as NAIA Ex makes going to Resorts World Manila such a breeze. Buti nalang at hindi kami tinamad!

Kids Easter Celebration at Resorts World Manila

This review might be helpful in deciding where to spend your Easter Sunday in 2018. Newport Mall in Resorts World Manila is a top choice for Filipino families as a lifestyle and leisure destination. The shops are family friendly with mid-range restaurants, even fast food options. There’s always something going on at the Activity Hall for everyone to watch & enjoy especially on weekends.

It pays to read the mechanics before going on this Easter Adventure, I downloaded the Resorts World app first and showed a P2,500 receipt. We ate at Annam Noodle Bar and bought takeaway to reach the purchase requirement. We presented it at the booth and got a ticket to enjoy the Easter Barnyard Adventure!

Super sulit with the many booths that you can claim goodies from. Parent and child are both given activity cards with different stubs attached. The kids enjoyed free snacks like Tender Juicy Hotdog, Gardenia bread, Country Style donut, Eggnog snacks, and the most popular that day was the giant cotton candy!

There was a small skit and singing and dancing followed by a mysterious and enthralling magic show. There were also fun games in between.

Activity booths like cookie decorating (sadly McCormick ran out of cookies for us to decorate) and face painting were also available.

I noticed how Resorts World also quietly included kids from charitable organizations and treated them like royalty during the event. Good job Resorts World! They had the best seat in the house and I’m sure these kids enjoyed the event as much as my son did, maybe even more :)

Overall we made the right decision to celebrate Easter Sunday at Resorts World. Everything was organized, safe, and secure that it was also fun for mommies like me.

Like and stay tuned on Resorts World Manila Facebook Page, this is where I get to know what’s up for families and kids such as free activities like this. You can also download the Resorts World Manila mobile app.

Resorts World Manila Christmas 2016 – Schedule

There are now many options to spend Christmas time and celebrations with the family. One of the top choices is Resorts World, especially if you are from the surrounding area – you know that the newly constructed roads has significantly improved traffic along airport road. Now, it’s even easier to go to Resorts World even for us from the south.

We bumped into Santa and the Super Dudes at the activity center of Newport Mall. As in they were just standing there and anyone could have a photo taken. We love RWM! P.S. I was waving at camera so my hand is blurred :(

The top reason I bring my family here is the quality of the place, it’s a venue to go to if you want to enjoy but in a different kind of mall than the usual. At Resorts World, it feels like a hotel-mall or mall-hotel which isn’t a surprise since Newport is surrounded by many luxury hotels like Maxims and Marriott. SM Southmall Christmas Launch: Tale of Winter Forest

SM supermalls started lighting up their Christmas trees a few weeks ago, almost simultaneously! We were lucky to witness at least one of them this year while in SM Southmall.

Every year, each SM Supermalls will have different themes and this year, SM Southmall’s activity center was transformed into a magical winter forest – with two magnificent giant reindeers. When we arrived, light effects were not yet on but many shoppers were already taking selfies.

Kami din syempre! Ashton with Mamu Yeyey :)

A few minutes later, the orchestra started to play Christmas songs. The crowd started to gather and were rewarded with a magical short play entitled “Tale of Christmas Forest”.

Our kid really focused and enjoyed the entire play – and for free! The kid actors, actresses were from Stages. Shoppers that afternoon are very lucky. Aside from the story that highlighted the value of kindness, the Winter Fairy (character) also rendered two songs that signaled the official tree lighting.

SM Southmall’s tree is not the usual green, triangle-shaped tree but more of a forest that shoots upward and wide from the center of the supermall. It’s very beautiful and everything, especially the program really promoted the Christmas spirit and feelings of love and giving.

I am really very proud of the Filipino Christmas. SM Supermalls, has been a big part of this grand tradition for many years. It’s not all about shopping but spending time together with our loved ones.

Children from SOS Children’s Villages and Child Haus were the VIPs during the program and all the kids were given a special gift from SM Southmall after the short program.

Upcoming Christmas Events & Activities at SM Southmall

Here is the announced schedule of Christmas events at SM Southmall:

Santa Clause Meet & Greet
November 13 & 27
December 11 & 24

Christmas Carols
November 22-24, 26

These are just some of the many & easy ways to enjoy this Christmas, no matter how busy we are or despite problems (if any) – Christmas is a wonderful and magical time to celebrate love, hope, and peace with our family and friends.

Merry SM Christmas Mommy & Baby!

Date Night at the 16th Grand Wine Experience

The Grand Wine Experience is known to be Southeast Asia’s most renowned wine event. It is me and my husband’s first time to attend it, especially when tickets are worth P5,000 each – illustrious indeed! It was my husband who was invited to attend and cover the event by Digital Circles Asia, and he brought me as his date (yehey!)

A Grand Feast of Food and Wine

This year, the event was held at The Marriott Grand Ballroom. The guests looked as prestigious as the venue, many of which from the hotel and hospitality industry.

It is easy to feel overwhelmed when you first enter the ballroom. It really was a different realm, the venue was huge yet everywhere you look there are different types of wine and food. And, it’s not just any wine – one of the stars of the night is the Dalmore Whisky priced at P2.5M per bottle.

As a guest, you can sample and drink all the wine to your heart’s desire. It is impossible to count how many wines were available and from different parts of the globe but according to the website, it is easily over 500 kinds of wine and spirit.

The food feast featured an array of stations. Carvings included peking duck, Spanish ham, and roast beef with complimenting side dishes. Seafood included a giant tuna sashimi station with complimenting sushi selection, and shrimps accompanied by different sauces & salsa.

There were also extraordinary attractions that added to the luxury experience of guests, these were the giant wok of beef ravioli and seafood paella, and a giant hanging canopy of desserts that descended from the ballroom’s ceiling!

Luxury Wine & Food Experience

it’s so easy to be overwhelmed with all the sights, smell, sound, and tastes at the 16th Grand Wine Experience. But, after you’ve explored and found your perfect spot to breathe in this one of a kind event, your tastebuds will start to tell you where to go.

Live soundtrack for your wine adventure

I started sampling the meats so that my gut will be ready for all the wine I will drink. I am not a wine expert and all I know is that I like sweet wine. So after enjoying my peking duck and Spanish ham, I headed straight to the nearest wine station and asked for a recommendation that fits my taste.

Moscato!

My first glass was a Yellow Tail White Moscato, it was perfect for a light drinker like me. Sweet and sparkling with very clean and light finish. From then on I decided to focus and take this opportunity to sample as many Moscato as I can.

Most of the Moscatos I tried were from the Australian wine section, another stand out for me was the Gossips Sweet Lips Pink Moscato which was sweeter than Yellow Tail and it’s tough to decide which is better. Since we were at the Grand Wine Experience, there is no need to decide because we can enjoy all the wine that we like.

Capping it all off with Coffee

Yes! There is also overflowing coffee and different kinds at that with real baristas that can prepare a good cup of latte, cappuccino, or amerikano to wake up your senses AND give you an extra boost of energy to dance to the live music.

I absolutely enjoyed my caffé amerikano with a selection of chocolate macarons from the dessert buffet, this – while keeping my friends updated on social media. There are plenty of comfy seats at the event so you can choose to stand, mingle, or like me, just relax and quietly enjoy the wine experience.

We were happy to find familiar faces and friends, Ted and Myke

Wine appreciation at your own pace

It was difficult to leave the Grand Wine Experience but when we finally did, I walked away with an extraordinary and memorable experience PLUS new knowledge especially about what wine I should buy this holiday. In fact, I am very excited to shop and look for the wines that I enjoyed at this event so that I can share wine appreciation to my family and friends.

Wine events, dinners, and what have you – it may all sound intimidating at first but at the end of the day, it is up to us what wine we choose to enjoy and with what food. Unless you are vying for the P2.5 million peso bottle of Dalmore, wines are not as expensive as they sound and prices do not necessarily dictate their quality and taste.

If you want to embark on a wine adventure to find your own favorite glass, don’t miss the next Grand Wine Experience. Stay tuned to http://grandwineexperience.com/ for updates.

Cheers! :)

Trolls Movie & Halloween Experience at Newport Mall, Resorts World

Ashton and I wanted to make the most out of our weekend and decided to visit Newport Mall. We checked the  Resorts World Manila Facebook Page and found they have a FREE Halloween event for kids that day.

You must present a receipt/proof of purchase to join the Halloween Kid’s Fair so we first ate at Ichiba. It’s our second time here and I ordered my favorite Takoyaki and Ika Fry.

Snack Time at Ichiba

Ichiba is already an attraction for kids and adult alike. The waiters would regularly perform with the giant drum shouting Japanese words that makes you feel like in Japan. The wet market is also a favorite hang out of kids who want to see live giant crabs, fish, and other seafood.

I like hanging out here because I’ve never been to Japan and this place makes me feel like I am.

Trolls Halloween Kid’s Fair

Upon presenting our receipt (from Ichiba), Ashton was already given a huge Halloween loot bag full of goodies. My son enjoyed going around the different booths, especially the arts and crafts station. We missed some of the activities because of our spontaneous trip but we were so happy to see the Trolls!

The line got quiet long with kids and we might be late for the movie so we just watched the mascots as they took photos with other kids. Ashton was also not in costume and it’s okay because we just really want to do something on a Sunday.

Trolls Movie Experience at Newport Cinema

After all the Halloween activities, we relaxed first at the Newport Cinema lounge area. This is one of the reasons why I prefer watching movies here, so relaxed, clean, and family friendly.

Ashton inspected his loot bag from the Halloween event and also found some snacks and drinks to enjoy while watching Trolls. Yehey, no need to buy popcorn :)

Inside the cinema, Ashton and I were surprised at the cinema roulette. I’ve heard the radio ads but not yet experience one, Ashton and I enjoyed watching the screen and hoping for our seat number to be called. Someone else won but it was a different experience for me and my son that we enjoyed very much.

Just a short review of the movie, it’s highly recommended! Parents like me will appreciate the musical parts featuring top songs from the past and kids will enjoy all the adventure and storytelling. The movie won’t bore viewers, all of the parts are fun and exciting plus it’s not very long and is just right for an enjoyable family movie experience. Regular showing starts on November 2 so don’t miss this chance to bond with your kids and family in the cinema :)

Happy Halloween Mommy & Baby!
