Baby: Preparing for Ashton’s Baptism

I confess, I cannot get myself to sleep because it’s Ashton’s baptism later. We never really thought of preparing too much until yesterday when my husband and I crammed like crazy peacocks.

Ashton’s baptismal clothes are ready!

Being frugal was my idea until I thought it over and realized that this is once in a lifetime and is Ashton’s first party ever. If I could afford to buy shoes, bags, and clothes – then why would I hold back from buying my beloved son a nicely designed cake with lotsa colors and crazy toppings like a ferris wheel. All for celebrating his becoming a real Christian.

Token for godparents

While Azrael ran to Red Ribbon to get THAT cake, I was in the mall printing my DIY thank you card to the godparents which I inserted into photo frames. At least, the godparents can just slip off the note and use the frame whenever.

I also did last minute shopping for a baptism candle and the white handkerchief as requested by the Church. Everything, I was able to accomplish in SM. It’s a good idea to get the gifts and tokens there because they wrap all the gifts for free 🙂

It was also just the other day I firmly decided to have a program. I don’t like parties where people just eat. I like meaningful celebrations even if some people (like my mom) discourages me from having one. Thank God for our friend Sai who will host the program later on. There’ll also be singing and messages for the newly baptized. Most of all, games with prizes!

Before I slipped on my PJ’s I’ve prepared two bags already – one for the tokens, prizes, and baptism paraphernalia, another bag for the nannny to bring which has diapers, wipes, bottles, and my thermal bag for the expressed milk.

Surely, I’d look like a momzilla later this afternoon.
