Bottle Free Travel thanks to Breastfeeding

Yesterday I decided to go out and attend some events with Ashton out of the blue. I was in a rush prepping myself and the baby bag (where all Ashton’s things are). I remembered I don’t use as much bottles and I have been directly feeding Ashton from my breasts.

I gave it a try to not bring any single bottle, even the breastpump and challenged myself if I will survive. Inside the car, I breastfed Ashton free from indecent stares and when we arrived at the venue, Ashton was still satisfied until after an hour and a half. So off we went to the car again and we breastfed while in transit to the next event.

Everything was great until we were looking for parking space and some construction worker glanced at my window and saw me breastfeeding. I saw him quickly nudge another worker to have a peek at the “attraction” but thank God the car was moving and they didn’t get the entertainment they were expecting. When I alighted the car, I saw them all looking at me.

Anyway, Ashton again was satisfied until the event was over and we resumed breastfeeding on the way home. It was nice to know that I can survive without my breastpump and bottles specially that when I came home, I didn’t need to unload used bottles and pump. Ashton also giggles now whenever he realizes that I am holding him close to me especially when nursing.

Helpful Tips to Survive without Bottles when Breastfeeding

– Do not forget your nursing bra with nursing pads

– Maximize traffic while feeding in transit

– Bring your nursing cover or a blankie to cover yourself if you really need to nurse in public

– Be wary of peeping toms!
