Century Park Hotel Manila (Couple Staycation Review)

We chose Century Park Hotel Manila for a spontaneous couple staycation. Here are some of the reasons why:

  • One of our friends shared a video of their deluxe room recently on Facebook. We saw the nice, spacious layout with a comfy looking hotel luxury bed. The room also featured a good-sized bathroom complete with a bathtub. The glass wall that separates the bedroom and the bathroom excited us most!
  • The location (Manila) is interesting for the two of us. I went to the nearby university and we have many memories here when we were still dating. It’s an area that the two of us will enjoy walking around in again and without our 9-year-old son distracting us.
  • The overnight rate of Century Park Hotel starts at P4,875 for the Deluxe Room, depending on where you book. Based on the price, I did not expect too much. For this stay, our priority is spending time together in their Deluxe Room – not grand lobbies, state of the art amenities, luxurious room service, or anything else.
  • Our booking included breakfast buffet for two and two welcome drinks that can be claimed anytime during your stay.

Our Experience  at Century Park Hotel

It’s my first time in this hotel and you can easily tell how simple yet classic the hotel is. Our check-in time was 2PM. We booked a Deluxe Room with 1 bed a few days before but our room wasn’t ready until about 4PM. I was a little disappointed but fortunately, my husband and I were both hungry. We decided to explore nearby restaurants and ended up having late lunch at Rai-Rai-Ken.

Century Park Hotel is across Harisson Plaza which will be demolished soon. So, we took the chance to take some photos for remembrance. Finally, we walk back to the check-in counters and after several more minutes – our room is ready. What can I say but the wait was worth it.

The Deluxe Room is spacious for its price. The bed is so luxurious for its price. The bathtub is so magical for its price. We can’t believe we will enjoy this beautiful hotel room for a very reasonable price.

This was the hotel I had in mind for our couple staycation. A no-frills hotel with a room that will meet an adult’s expectation. I’ve had my share of hotels or resorts that fell short of room quality and cleanliness. Century Park Hotel passed and may have even surpassed my expectations… can I add again – for its price. The room looked exactly like what our friend had on his video.

This is the spacious bathroom with a bath tub. The hot and cold water were functioning precisely. The water pressure is strong. The bathroom smells pleasant. No foul smell coming out of the sink or some other holes. One thing I noticed is some stain that the cleaner missed on the toilet seat. I sprayed the toilet with alcohol and wiped it.

The towels were in good condition. Toiletries include a couple of hard soap, shower gel, shampoo & conditioner, and 1 bubble bath. It would be delightful if there were 2 small bottles of bubble bath.

The mini bar is empty which is understandable (for the price of the hotel?). There’s an electric kettle, 2 coffee cups, complimentary coffee and tea. There were only 2 sachets of coffee. 1 was regular coffee and 1 was decaf. We are heavy coffee drinkers so next time, I recommend bringing our own coffee.

TV and work area. Nice selection of cable TV channels. The layout of the work desk is also good because it doesn’t block the TV and was enough for all of my husband’s gadgets. Speaking of gadgets, the room has wifi but it was just okay. It was enough to get some social media done but you need to refresh it a few times or the connection freezes or become too slow. Not a big deal because this staycation was for us to spend time together and not with our gadgets.

Lounge chair and view. We enjoyed coffee time here (we bought donuts from JCO in Harisson Plaza). The view of Manila in front of us and on the right, Manila Bay was so memorable. We don’t live in metro manila so we were able to appreciate how it looks different after a few years has now passed.

Overall, the room exceeded my expectation and what we exactly needed to relax and enjoy a peaceful time for ourselves.

Century Park Hotel Breakfast Buffet

Century Park offers buffet-style breakfast for checked-in guests in their Cafe in the Park restaurant. Food options include Filipino and Asian fares, a good selection of bread, cheese, and overflowing bacon. My husband loved their bacon the most. I had a light breakfast and found their coffee good as well.

I liked the ambiance of the cafe. Diners were a mix of local travelers and tourists. Even with the chatter of guests, Cafe at the Park had good acoustics that a relaxed morning conversation is enjoyable. All the cooking in the food stations did not affect the temperature or make you smell like food. There’s also wifi if you need to check something.

Cafe in the Park is a practical but enjoyable place to have your breakfast when staying in Century Park.
