Family Weekend: Nuvali

It’s been weeks since we last went out as a family and as brain consuming it is to plan and budget one, I find it an accomplishment to transport everyone to a nice place and come home with photo souvenirs. Even though we spent the weekend outdoors, I tried to stick to my frugal ways which is very difficult when traveling with 5 adults and a baby. My entire entourage plus my sister was present but like she said, our trip was worth it. And here is why.

Activities in Nuvali

1. Coffee Time – Our first stop was at Starbucks where I had everyone try the Roasted Vegetables and Club House sandwich. It was raining and having a cup to drink was best while waiting for the sunshine. Thank goodness I had some minutes by my sister in our own little nook. A tall Green Tea Frappuccino was all I need to recharge and clear my mind for a moment.

2. Fish feeding – is already a cliche in Nuvali but I have a one year old who loves fish and says “ish” to call them. Feeds are available for P15 and a good activity while waiting for your boat ride.

3. Boating – for P30 you get just enough boating experience with real waves from a man-made reservoir. The same body of water where the hungry Japanese cois are. It is a good photo opportunity and one you can get printed on online via CafePress. I discovered this website several years ago and it’s a good place to go if you want unique family items you can pass on generations. My spouse looks at big bang theory t shirts there too. Back to boating, the P30 ticket is worth it.

4. Biking- I loved this part and for P60 you can rent Nuvali bikes for an hour. You can rent one and just take turns using it with your family, that’s a Mommy Lace tip 😉 The bikes don’t have the traditional breaks so they may need some practice especially before trying to bike along steep slopes like the bridge.

5. Spa- get your mommy me time at Indulgence Spa, just look for the Convergys building which is a walking distance from Solenad. While I got my 30 minute chair massage, everyone else went to check out the bazaar.

There are also plenty of places to eat in Nuvali so you will not have any trouble with food but may find it a challenge if you are traveling with a large group, like me! I just had us stop over at KFC on the way home.

I hope you learned heaps from this post and have some ideas for your next family weekend!
