Instax Mini 70 – Add More Fun this Christmas (Review)

If you’re not yet a selfie-pro like me but want to enjoy having an Instax Mini, then try the newest Instax Mini 70 instant camera. This costs P6,999 and is available in Canary Yellow, Island Blue, and Moon White. I chose the stylish white Instax.

The product comes with batteries and a safety strap. The instax films are not included, so I purchased them separately from a nearby store called Photoline:

Double pack Instax Mini 70 films (10pcs.x2) were on sale at just P680, lucky me.

Me and my son loading films and batteries onto our Instax camera. Ashton already knows how to use the Mini 8 and as for me, we’ll see with the photos below. His evil smile trying to steal the films from me. Here’s a quick comparison of mini 80 vs. mini 70:

The Mini 70 has a more stylish and chic design which is nice for more mature users like me. Notice the selfie mirror next to the lens, it allows you to check framing before taking a snap on selfie mode. Now here comes the test shots.

Auto mode enables automatic exposure control. Just press the shutter and the camera can automatically detect the surrounding brightness and adjust the shutter speed and flash amount. In short, just smile. Notice how the Instax Mini 70 captured the background. This shot was taken indoors during the day.

“Groufie” with the philantropic ladies of Zonta Club Alabang who are hosting a Christmas Carnivale for a Cause. It’s the first time I brunched with them and everyone was amused when I pulled out my Instax and instantly shared copies of our “groufie”. Mommy Lace tip: Take multiple shots so you can give everyone a picture.

Ashton and the singing reindeers in Rockwell, Power Plant Mall. Taken with hi-key mode to capture bright & beautiful skin tone, taken indoors with normal mall lighting.  Mommy Lace tip: Use the Instax mini 70 to capture the Christmas lights and decorations when you visit Christmas amusement parks, Christmas parties, and Christmas reunions 🙂

I brought the Instax Mini 70 during my intimate reunion with my highschool bestfriend after 15 years! This is definitely an Instax moment. Before, we would go to the arcade and have neoprints (photo stickers) taken. We enjoyed taking selfies with Instax, two shots everytime so each of us can have our own copies. Developing/printing time is approximately 90 seconds. We were instantly transported back to our fun highschool times. P.S. This is still in auto mode.

These Instax moments were taken at the village bazaar aka “perya” at night. Still, the Instax Mini 70 was able to capture the festive & fun “peryahan” background in auto mode. The first photo was taken with the “selfie mode”, I appreciated the selfie mirror especially I want to be precious with the Instax films and want to avoid error shots.

How about non-human subjects? Our backyard rabbits looking cute & fluffy. These photos were still taken in auto mode, outdoors, during the day.

The Instax pictures of the rabbits went into my rabbitry notebook where I jot down expected delivery dates (meaning when they are about to give birth), the rabbit’s gender, and breed.

Overall, the Instax Mini 70 exceeded my expectations. At the store, I was thinking of it as a camera that prints photos instantly, the new features like the selfie mirror and auto mode that now captures the background. Out of the box, I was surprised how carrying an Instax add so much fun, sharing, and creativity to my day – all for just P6,999. Not bad at all, Merry Christmas!
