Pink Kujaku Sports Vacuum Bottle from Japan

One of my frugal tips is using a “thermos” (insulated jugs) in the kitchen to keep hot water available without re-using the electric kettle and save electricity.  It has reduced heating to twice a day, morning and afternoon – versus heating water every time a family member wants a hot drink like coffee or tea.

800ml Kujaku Sports Bottle P1,699

I’ve recently adapted the same concept of saving both electricity and money when on the go, so I am recently using this Japanese hot & cold stainless vacuum tumbler. I received it as an early Christmas gift and have been using it from the gym for cold water to bringing my own hot water & instant coffee when outside the house.

Many of us have coffee tumblers/sports bottles and in different designs but become lazy to bringing them along inside our bags. Two reasons for this are:

1) Risk of  spillage – I’ve experienced spills particularly when using standard tumblers with sipping lids (sliding or flap version). If you’re a mommy like me who use a single bag for everything including a drink, I suggest using a bottle type tumbler with a twist cap.

2) Improper insulation – Exerting effort in bringing and using your own tumbler to save money can be discouraging when you discover that your drink isn’t cold and hot enough to enjoy. When choosing a tumbler, do take note if the bottle, cup, or jug you are buying is really insulated.

There are nice tumblers that are meant for just taking out hot drinks like coffee and enjoying them on the go while saving the environment, but are not designed to keep them hot enough for 24 hours. Same with tumblers that are meant for containing water but not keep them cold throughout the day.

I just saved P140 (and unwanted calories) by bringing my own coffee (it won’t hurt if you ask for a proper cup from the waiter)

I’m surprised that this Kujaku Sports bottle is also a vacuum bottle that support energy conservation. I can bring it to both the gym or when going out to save money by bringing my own hot or cold drink.

More product shots & features

The Kujaku Sports Bottle has grip cover which not only makes it easier to hold, especially when at the gym but also provides protection from scratches. I really like the metallic color of my Kujaku, it’s not just plain metallic but you can see tiny sparkly particles too.

The bottom is also protected by a shock-resistant cover.

Here’s the twist-type cap that I now prefer to avoid spills, hot or cold.

I checked out Kujaku Philippines on Facebook and they are having a clearance sale for similar products on December 15-16 at the Pacific Star Building, Low Rise Lobby 3, Gil Puyat, Makati. The Kujaku Sports Bottle is one of the top Christmas gifts for yourself, your kids for use at school, or your family & friends who go to work, like to travel, or those who regularly hit the gym.

Merry Christmas Mommy!
