Star Wars light show at The Globe Telecom building during the Galactic Weekend

Last weekend, we surprised our son with a free galactic Star Wars experience at Bonifacio Highstreet. The venue was transformed by Globe Telecom to become the biggest Star Wars play hub the Philippines has ever seen.

The attraction was open to the public and for free. Ashton dressed up as his favorite Star Wars character, Kyloren. We got the original Kyloren mask from Toy Kingdom for P799.

Star Wars costume is not necessary it’s just that our son really digs Star Wars, as influenced by his father. The Star Wars play hub was complete with Jedis, Siths, and Storm Troopers. It was Ashton’s first time to use his Cross Guard Lightsaber (P1,300 at Toy Kingdom) against Darth Maul.

The main attraction is the Star Wars Battle Pod which is like an arcade game but with a huge screen that make players feel like riding a real X-Wing. Ashton and his dad really enjoyed this and it was free for everyone to try.

Star Wars toys, collectibles, and merchandise like t-shirts, bags, tumblers, and the Sphero BB8 droid were also available both for sale in merchant booths and to be won at the Globe Telecom booth.

The Galactic Weekend may be over but Globe subscribers can still win exclusive Star Wars items, exclusive movie invites, and a Star Wars adventure in the USA. According to the promo poster, you just have to text FORCE <name/address> and send to 2363 for free.

My son’s Star Wars fever is far from over and they are counting the days to the Star Wars premier on December 17. I am sure Star Wars will be a big part of his childhood memory especially with his dad being a Star Wars fan too. They can talk about Jedis and Siths non-stop and being at the Star Wars Play Hub by Globe is one of their biggest Star Wars fan moment – their galaxy were really filled with wonder!
