Surviving Mommy Blah Days

There are days that you simply want to snooze on and wake up when it ends. It’s common ground among moms, working or not because both are bombarded with things to do that are simply hard to ignore. Things easily fill our cups and boom! It overflows like an avalanche and we spiral with it.

So roll up your sleeves moms because we have no choice but stare at blah days in the eyes and tell it to bugger off.

1. List down all the things you need “you think” you must do. See it all points to YOU and though you want to get it done right, try to delegate them and cross them off your list. You can delegate tasks like simple cooking to the nanny or running to the store to your husband (they like being out most of the time so you won’t have a problem).

2. Now that you have a shorter list, pick the item that annoys you most or you are most anxious about. It could be a project that needs to get sorted at work, a phone call, or that blog post you need to write on your mommy blog. Cross it out and get it done. Now.

3. See number 2 wasn’t that hard! Now you have fewer things to do and a clearer head to boot 🙂 You deserve a break so sip your favorite cold drink, go for a 20 minute “me” time, and breathe.

4. You can now happily work on the rest of your list and get through a blah day. Most of the time, blah days are caused by stressed and trying to be jaded about them but that won’t really happen. As a mom, not only your children depend on you – actually it feels like the whole world depends on us!

Do what you have to do to feel better because we can’t move along until we are able to manage ourselves! And don’t forget to celebrate each day you go through, always insert that special time for things you love (aside from your family) – play the piano, read a book, youtube download, write a blog, or tend to your garden. You’re the boss! 🙂
