Anya’s Drawing

My 7 year old niece Anya is such an artist. She even knows who Salvador Dali is, shown a photo of Mona Lisa – and she immediately recognizes her as if it was just Dora the Explorer. One day, I ‘commissioned’ an artwork to her. I wrote her a letter of request for her to draw me, my son Ashton, and her in one portrait.

Immediately she worked on it like a professional would and delivered the artwork before it was due. See below work of Anyanka Mae Ibarra.

For me, it’s the cutest thing and most priceless artwork ever!

Do you keep your kid’s artwork? Reading from www.Savings.com , you could even make money with just about anything including artworks like this.  One idea that came to my mind is to make Cafepress custom t-shirts from Anya’s work. I tried selling some of my artwork in Cafepress as well but maybe, a child’s work of art has priceless sincerity and overflowing creativity rather than an adult’s.Even if you do not want to sell it, the website can let you order shirts, mugs, or just about anything printed with your own designs 🙂

Another idea which is simpler is to make holiday ornaments from your tot’s drawings. That will keep them rugrats busy while enjoying their new found responsibility in decorating. Well what do you know, Christmas is just around the corner and these ornaments could be the best gift grandparents would receive!

When Ashton learns to draw, I will keep a box of his drawings and have some of them framed. I guess this would be great for his room and I like paintings that are meaningful rather than commercial display items.

Thank you Anya for your drawing and I wish to see more of it!
