I thought Ashton and I have tried majority of baby wipes until these came into our mailbox.
These are Pure & Natural Wipes from NIVEA. I have no idea they had this product except for the Head-to-Toe wash from the same baby line. I lovingly remember how Ashton’s to-go home kit from the hospital included a small tub of it. Obviously, Ashton beat me to inspecting and reviewing the NIVEA wipes.
The package tells us what to expect:
- 0% Parabens (a class of chemicals widely used as preservatives in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries)
- 0% Alcohol
- 0% Perfume
- Easy cleaning
Although Pure & Natural Wipes from NIVEA claim to have no perfume, a certain smell is distinct. Turns out that these wipes have been soaked in a perfume-free light lotion with certified organic chamomile. Most baby wipes have chamomile for of its soothing and relaxing effects. This plant is known help ease anxiety too, even in babies. Now smell is not really my priority when it comes to bottom cleansing but thickness of baby wipes are as nasty poop has many faces – if you know what I mean. And NIVEA’s wipes are indeed thick and smartly textured with small circles that I find helpful in cleansing. After all, the package says it has a patented easy clean feature.
The size of each wipe is also generous, a big square if I may describe it as that. How many times have moms experimented with cheap wipes and be surprised at the small sizes/cut of wipes that can’t get anything done? Yes I know about that too. I am impressed with the Pure & Natural Wipes, save for I seldom see it in stores or maybe they are just starting to emerge locally. Have I told you these are also biodegradable? Great way to counter the carbon footprint left by tons of nappies.
Some things I wish they had, a pack of 100+’s because babies can be such poop and pee factories.
A pack of 50 costs PHP 150, so NIVEA Pure & Natural Wipes are a bit high-end in terms of baby wipes and if you are willing to pay extra for quality and efficiency in cleaning boo-boos then I highly recommend it.
