Working Mom: Like Motherhood

Ashton gets irked as much as mommy

My husband and I watched a film called Motherhood two weeks ago. It starred Uma Thurman who played the role of a very busy full time mom blogger. With two kids and a home to manage (without any help), she was stressed, desperate, bitter, and almost reached the verge of destruction. Most times, the character complained of her circumstances and unlike my husband expected, I did not enjoy the movie as much. Simply because I already know what it takes to be a mom and how busy things can get. Uma Thurman was so convincing in her role that I did feel the stress from the movie. I told my spouse that I’d rather watch a comedy that can let me relax and not remind me of the not-so perfect side of motherhood.I’d recommend it for moms-to-be though but soon you’ll realize that motherhood has more joys than pain.

As it is the end of the work week, I confess that I feel like that mom from the movie. But not that crazy that I will drive to another state to get away from it all. My brain is flooding with ideas to write and just before I wanted to call it a day, things needing my attention sprouted from left and right. If I had an ekg it should show how my heart is palpitating with stress. Finally, I think everything is sorted and I can enjoy a sit down meal in 24 hours.

How was your week and what are your plans for the weekend?
