Bag of Beans Tagaytay, New Branch

Bag of Beans is one of the top tourist destination in Tagaytay for coffee, shepherd’s pie, and all-day breakfast. My family and I use to go to the first branch along Nasugbu highway, just after Mushroom Burger and Mendez Crossing.

Nowadays that Bag of Beans branch is packed with customers, especially weekends and holidays. Bag of Beans since opened a second branch in Tagaytay Rotonda which is smaller but has a view of Taal Volcano. Nowadays, that branch is also packed.

In the last part of 2015, Bag of Beans opened its 3rd branch along Aguinaldo Highway, Tagaytay. This is in between the two branches. This third branch of Bag of Beans comes after Lourdes Church and in front of Carmela’s Banana Cake store.

This is now our favorite branch. Not everyone knows about this spot *yet* since it is very easy to miss when you are not really looking at the highway. Only a single Bag of Beans sign provides direction, the coffee shop & restaurant is hidden down the slope. The entrance is quiet steep.

Brought my family from Australia here in 2015

There is an option to dine-in, plenty of seats to choose from. I liked the clean & white modern home interiors. It’s like dining in your rich grandmother’s rest house in Tagaytay.

Like a real house, the dining area extends to a spacious balcony with more seating. It offers a view of the Taal Lake although not that close, the greenery & forestry in sight makes up for it. Besides, for frequent visitors of Tagaytay, sometimes it’s not all about the view but the country side ambiance and fresh air.

My son likes to play in the garden

From the balcony, you can go down a fleet of stairs to the garden. Most of the visitors come down for picture-taking but I think you can also have your food served here to enjoy the Bag of Beans fare in a garden setup. This is nice to bring your kids to when they’ve finished eating their food and become bored.

There are a couple of swings, one of them is in the garden area. It’s as if you will swing towards the lake and volcano.

When my family went, they were construction bed & breakfast like structures within the compound. Not sure but I guess Bag of Beans will offer B&B soon.

The food is of the same quality across all Bag of Beans branches. If you ask for my recommendation it would be pancakes breakfast or tapsilog paired with Barako coffee.

Still, the place can get packed on weekends and long holidays – so if you can, do visit on weekdays or come extra early for breakfast or lunch.

What’s your favorite Bag of Beans branch and food? 🙂
