Home & Living: Family Day at Mercato Centrale Weekend Market

photo

I love going to weekend markets and thankful that there are a number of them sprouting in the city. Saturday, Ashton and I managed to wake up early at 7.30AM, we sleep until 12NN most days.

With fellow moms Candy and Janice (that’s Little Mr. Chef)

This was for us to check out Mercato Centrale or Mercato Weekend Market for the first time. It was my husband’s second time.

We got there at 9AM which was a good time because most of the goods are already displayed and most vendors were no longer sleepy. Mercato Market opens 6AM until 12NN only and is located across Bonifacio Highstreet.

The first thing I got was Oh! Baby natural baby food for Ashton. I didn’t bring any baby potatoes that day for the little boy and very glad to bump into RJ who told me they had a booth. No need to order your favorite gourmet baby food now when you can easily get it during weekends here! They are geniuses, they had baby plastic spoons available.

Ashton loved the Potato and Apple Oh! Baby.

My baby enjoyed it so much, he was in the mood for cuddling and playing right after.

Mercato Centrale is a wonderful place to spend an early weekend morning with all the food choices and endless cooking possibilities with produce and rare ingredients. My husband, Azrael enjoyed this Bagnet sandwich so much.

While I enjoyed shopping for my desserts, midnight snack for me and my sister Liza. I think of the total area of Mercato, 60% is dedicated to sweets, pastries, icecream, and other forms of sweet indulgences.

Just some of the stuff I grabbed for the fridge:

Cake number one with Macadamia Nuts

Yema rolls which taste like Brazo de Mercedes

Apple Pie

I also got brown rice, carrots and ginger chips, and some more which we have already digested and forgotten. My husband and I cannot help to talk about our weights and wonder does lipofuze work?

We tried to burn some calories by walking to Bonifacio Highstreet to bring Ashton to Hobbes and Landes, then rest with a cup of Chai Tea Latte from SBC.

Returned home right after and took a family weekend nap at home 🙂

Don’t you just love family weekends? What are your plans for this week?
