Home & Living: Tips on Baking Cupcakes

Sometimes, being in the kitchen is the best way to relax. As I focus on measurements and oven temperature, my mommy worries melt away and for an hour or so – I have ME time while creating something for the family 🙂 Definitely a win-win type of thing.

Cupcakes are easy to make if you have the right tools which are measuring cups, cupcake molds, and a pastry brush. I am not going to give a recipe because there are tons available online, what I have are tips to make baking your cupcakes a breeze.

1. Use cupcake cups – these are the small rimmed paper cups you put inside the baking pan/mold. You don’t have to grease the pan if you have these and when your cupcakes are done. They are easy to pull out without damaging their shapes.

2. Brush the top of the baking pan with butter – just the top where the head of the cupcakes will expand to. This way, they won’t stick even when they are not covered with the cupcake baking cups.

3. Your cake recipe can be used as cupcake batter – make your favorite cake into its bite-size cutie version without having to change any ingredient. With my cupcakes, I just used my cake with sprinkles recipe but used a cupcake pan instead of a round baking sheet.
