Home & Living: Your Marriage after the Baby can be a Piece of Cake

Nourishing a marriage after giving birth is not easy. First, it’s too natural for both parties to focus on their little bundle joy. Then there’s the baby shift when one parent sleeps while the other minds the baby. Rarely (make that never) would a couple get to sleep at the same time. Don’t panic. This is not the end of your marriage!

Just ask yourself, what makes you happy? I love cakes, cakes make me happy. And I told my husband that at this time, I love cakes more than anything in the world because it means “me” time or “break” time. Now everytime he comes home from meetings, he never fails to bring home not just the bacon, but also the cake!

Then, also ask yourself as a wife, what makes your husband happy? (except that!) I realized my partner likes cakes too. Cakes with mangoes like the Mango Bene from Mary Grace or the Mango Bravo from Conti’s. So everytime I go out, I also bring home the cake 🙂

Then, when we can – we squeeze in a quickie date in coffee shops where both of us can have our cakes at the same time. For now, no talking about the best fat burning exercises!

Just remember, it’s the small things that count. To my husband, thanks for making me and my sweet tooth happy! It keeps my crankiness at bay 🙂
